Garden Statues

Garden statues have the ability to transform even the plainest plot of land but whatever you choose do remember that a statue should always have somewhere positive to go in the garden whether it is sitting comfortably on the edge of a pool or centre stage in a green theatre formed by clipped yew hedges. Garden statues and poolside statues are available in stone, simulated stone, bronze, lead and even fibreglass. There are human figure statues, animal and bird statues and even abstract statues; although the latter are probably more in keeping in the ultra-modern garden and tend to be regarded as pieces of art by collectors.

Statuary has always been popular and is still in vogue today. It can create a romantic atmosphere or a striking third dimmension in both town and country gardens. Bear in mind though that white or light coloured statues show up best, particularly in dark and shady corners or where an area is backed by shrubs with deep green foliage. Darker coloured statues should always have a light coloured or light filled backgound if they are to make any impact in the garden.
